Bruna’s fondness for bikes started when she was a teenager, looking for a fun way to commute to school. This was the first time she discovered how much joy and energy this simple, yet sophisticated machine could bring about.
Riding and wanting to learn how to maintain, fix, build her own bikes were one thing and the same.
With a background in humanities, arts and pedagogy (musician, photographer, writer and primary school teacher), throughout the years Bruna found cycling opened up many exciting new paths: from partaking in Critical Mass to co-founding a bike co-op in Cagliari, to teaching people how to fix their bikes and presenting workshops and events about the world of cycling.
At last, two decades later, after years of working and living abroad (central Europe, U.S.A., Canada), having biked many places and fixed numerous cycles, Bruna decided to come back to Sardinia and contribute her passion and experience in travel, bikes and repairs to the Sardinia Bike Service project.
Her wish is to foster a genuine, respectful way of travelling and encountering new places, supporting bikers and travellers wishing to discover this island, so rich in history and nature and yet so abused by numerous industries. To show people who come from afar the places, tastes, scents of Sardinia and why they are dear to us. What better way to do so than by riding a bike on its rocks, along its shores, up its peaks, down its valleys?
We’re waiting for you :)
